Grafton County Hosts
"Youth Commissioners" for a Day

Every year around the time of County Government Week, the Grafton County Commissioners host "Youth Commissioners" for a day.  This year the students came on May 15th.    Each Commissioner invites a student from a school in their own districts to come to Grafton County and spend the day finding out what County Government is all about.

Commissioner Burton invited two students from Woodsville High School, Miranda Fullerton and Kyle Gould.  Commissioner Cryans invited two students from Hanover High School, Zach Sheets and Beryl Frishtick  Unfortunately, due to the terrible rain and flooding, Commissioner Gabler's student was unable to attend.
The day began with a Commissioner's Meeting wherein may different topics were discussed.
(see minutes), including a visit from Bode Miller's Dad who was representing Tri-County Cap.
A one point during the day, the students toured the Nursing Home, the Jail and visited the Farm including the cows and the piggery.  Lunch was provided by the Nursing Home.
All and all the students seemed to have enjoyed themselves and surely came away with a better understanding of County Government.
