County Report Dedication |
Each year the County Report is dedicated to someone who has made an impact on
Grafton County. This year, each Commissioner
chose
someone from their district to dedicate the report to.
Commissioner Cryans chose Mr.
Richard Green from his district. Mr.
Green
was instrumental in both the creation and running of the Grafton County
Economic Development Council, from which he is now retired from. Much of the
success of the Council is attributed to the hard work and efforts of Dick Green
.
Commissioner
Burton chose Norrine
Williams,
Executive Director of the Ammonoosuc Community Health Center as his dedicatee.
Mrs. Williams has been Director for 30 years and wears many other hats outside
of the Center. She also teaches at Lyndon State College in Vermont as well
as lives there. Norrine was away on the day of the dedication so two of
the Board
Members for ACHC accepted the report on her behalf. Sally Small is the
President, and Schuyler Sweet is the Treasurer. Both members were honored
to be able to work with Norrine and praised her capabilities.
Commissioner Gabler chose the Honorable John Alger for his dedication.
Representative Alger was in the Legislature for 5 terms before passing away this
year.
Mr. Alger served the people of Grafton County as Chair of the Executive
Committee for 3 years and was involved in a number of other civic activities in
Town, County and State. Mr. Alger will certainly be missed.

Mrs. Alger was present and received the report on behalf of her late husband. Mr. Alger's sister came in from Hanover and both ladies were honored.
All three recipients received a personalized copy of the 2005 Annual County Report. We Honor their civic duties to their communities and to the County.
