Saying Good-Bye to the Buildings

After the loss by fire, of what was call the "Woodshop", it was necessary to remove what was left of the building.  It was determined that the old Blacksmith Building was also suffering from decay so it was decided that that building should come down too.   After a bidding process, Chris Whitcher, owner of C.M. Whitcher Rubbish Removal  out of Warren New Hampshire, won the bid to remove the building and debris.  This was a specialized process as some of the barns contained asbestos and other hazardous materials.  The job was overseen by the Superintendent of Maintenance, Jim Oakes, and by the Scott Lawson Group who was hired by the County to make sure that all hazardous material was removed and disposed of according to State and Federal regulations.  The men from C.M. Whitcher , and other sub-contractors, removed the two buildings in plenty of time for County Day, leaving a well cleaned area.  The job couldn't have been done any better.  Here's how it happened:
